This project aims to create an urban connection by reconciling the quality of the neighbourhood’s urban environment and the hardness of the periphery boulevard infrastructure, converting the building into a structuring element in the city. How can this undertaking tackle the issue of the various urban scales as it aims to connect the city, on the edge of a car-traffic road featuring a long facade, a technical PV array wall and sound barrier?

The International Residence project aims to foster cohesion between residents and the neighborhood population and enhance the value of the public space. Thus it seems appropriate to contextualise the project in its place and have it dialogue with its immediate environment and the city, so it becomes a relational building: moving from human to urban, proposing a lighthouse building in the metropolitan landscape. The backbone of the building-comb is a street-gateway on the south, on which are built buildings ranging from two to nine levels. This suspended street makes it possible to explore the central volumes in such a way that all rooms face north and south.
