In this apartment building constructed in 1926 in Winterthur, two of the three existing apartments were merged. By relocating and redesigning various ground floor rooms, a spacious living floor with new kitchen, dining area, cloakroom, toilets and living room could be realized.

The plain, all-white kitchen-living room with a generous cooking island and dining area in front of it forms the rear end of the living area, which has been combined from three rooms.

Except for the new sandstone-coloured anhydrite flooring in the entrance, cloakroom and kitchen areas, the existing fishbone oak parquet floors have been retained. The new large passage to the library room and the new parquet floor there take up the existing materials, colour and form elements and fit naturally into the original design.

By merging and redesigning the bathroom and kitchen in the apartment on the first floor, a new bathroom adapted to current needs with separate toilet, shower niche and free-standing bathtub was created. In the apartment on the second floor, preparations were made for a later conversion and a gentle brush renovation was undertaken.
