Mabau's house

 Back to Projects list
Location
Florennes, Belgium
Year
2015

Timber frame and low energy single-family house located in Florennes.

Following the sun’s path and the steep slope of the field, the project proposes a different concept of the traditional habitat.
Next to the carport, the entrance to the house gives access to a cloakroom, a cellar and a storage for the bikes. In contact with the road, this floor is a semi-buried. On the first floor, the living spaces are fully open to the south. The second floor is used by the night areas. Furthermore, a slightly sloping walkway gives a direct access to the back of the garden.

Overflowing on the first floor, the upstairs protects it from overheating and creates a covered outdoor area.

The front yard allows up to 3 parking spaces.
