Community House Am Hauptbahnhof

 Back to Projects list
Location
Korbach, Germany
Year
2019

The Community House Am Hauptbahnhof is located near the pedestrian zone of the city of Korbach, directly at the exit of the main train station, in a social hub. The mixed use project includes a café, a bank, consulting offices, a doctor‘s office, a gym and apartments of all sizes. In addition to the diversity, the affordability of the apartments is particularly important. They are subsidized by the commercial uses and thus create living space for all income groups.
In order to support the social exchange of the inhabitants, generous outdoor spaces were created in the form of community gardens and green terraces. On the ground floor, a meeting place for exhibitions and events has been set up, which is made available for the public. The project is an effective symbiosis between commercial and community housing.
