At a glance, we can tell that this house is very dramatically designed.

When you open the entrance door, you are invited to a quite dark space. In the space are the stairs with sun lights from above which leads you to the upper floor. Bed rooms and other private area are located in the first floor, and the public area such as the living-dining-kitchen and the bathroom are located in the second floor.

The second floor is designed L-pattern type using the stairs as a base point, setting the living-dining-kitchen on the west side, and bathroom on the south east.

"We saw Atami''s Horizon House, designed by Mr. Ogawa, on the magazine and thought we must ask him to design for us. We wanted to build a house like that by the ocean, so that we can live a calm, and peaceful weekends by viewing the ocean" says Mr. M, the owner of the house. Mr. Ogawa designed the house basing on the ocean and the Mt. Fuji which is at the west side of the land.

Mt. Fuji is located right in front of the kitchen. When you open the 5meter × 6.2meter window, you will find the narrow designed kitchen connected together with the court deck and turns into a fertile space.

Same dramatic change occurs with the bathroom which is located in the south east area of the floor. The architect's idea was also reflected here. He used the same material to all LDK, court deck, and bathroom so that once you fully open the window; nothing will visually divide the rooms.

Mr. Ogawa says, "By creating the vague rooms by not differing the materials and windows from inside to outside, I think I succeeded in making a house that you can feel the comfort of the sunshine and the sea breeze of the sunny day."

Mr. M who wanted to have their whole sunny day meal at the court deck, thinks he got a perfect weekend house.

Mt, Fuji that stands over Sagami Bay can be seen from the kitchen. Narrow designed room and the fixed window shows the Mountain as a picture like situation.
When you fully open the south window, LDK and the court deck combine together. The dining table which fits in the space is also designed by Mr. Ogawa.
The white entrance and the stairs reminds of the beautiful scenery waiting outside.
If you soak into the build-in type bath tub, all you can see is just the blue sky and the ocean. By opening the right window, the bathroom integrates with the court deck. Wife of Mr. M says, “It makes me feel as if I’m enjoying the half open aired bath. Nobody can see us from outside, so I feel very relaxed in here”
