2013 RIBA Jencks Award to Benedetta Tagliabue

Benedetta Tagliabue, director of the architecture firm Miralles Tagliabue EMBT (founded in 1994 in collaboration with Enric Miralles, and based in Barcelona and Shanghai), has been announced as the recipient of the 2013 RIBA Jencks Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects. According to RIBA, "the annual Jencks Award (named for theorist and critic Charles Jencks) is given to an individual, or practice, that has recently made a major contribution internationally to both the theory and practice of architecture." The institute cites how she "has carved out a reputation for an architecture fused with a passion for landscape and design." As part of her award, Tagliabue is speaking at RIBA on 19 November 2013.
