The ABC of Architects

If architecture can be guilty of one thing, regardless of style, geography, typology, or any other variable, it's taking itself too seriously. The history of architecture can have a particularly great amount of gravitas, but not in the hands of Andrea Stinga and Federico Gonzalez. The duo have crafted an animated film that runs through 26 great architects and their most well known buildings, one for each letter of the alphabet. Accompanied by Eugene C. Rose and George Rubel's bubbly "The Butterfly," it's hard to resist the charms of the 90-second history lesson, especially when Luis Barragan's Satellite Towers rise and fall to the music, or when a parachuted figure descends from Cesar Pelli's Petronas Towers. Delightful.
