Silver Tower

Main Tower, Westhafen Tower, Messeturm and not to forget the Silver Tower. Each of those skyscrapers based in Frankfurt was provided with Metal Ceilings for special requirements by the Lindner Group. The 166 meter-high Silver Tower was basically reconstructed and renewed. After a complete restoration taking three years, the German railway company Deutsche Bahn moved into the building at the Jürgen-Ponto-Platz in 2012.

Modern design and sustainability

The planning and project management was carried out by schneider+schumacher architectural ltd in Frankfurt. Architecturally seen, the four single buildings stand out because of their rounded edges. The building’s environmentally friendly orientation was also especially attached importance to – for which the planner received the silver pre-certificate of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). One aspect of the aimed revitalizing concept was the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and of the energy consumption in the modernized office space. For this reason, Lindner installed Plafotherm® Metal Chilled Ceilings as well as Plafotherm® Plasterboard Chilled Ceilings in the special shape of a triangle.

Heating and Cooling Technologies
The requirement of a modern design and a healthy indoor climate was met by the integration of a surface Heating /Cooling System in the hanged ceilings. Thanks to their flexible connection, the Metal Chilled Ceilings are especially revision-friendly and offer high performance potential. An easily accessible ceiling void which is suitable for installations was achieved by the closed construction of the system. Different perforated images and high quality surfaces give the ceiling an appealing design. The Plafotherm® Plasterboard Chilled Ceiling offers the same design and processing variety as a common Plasterboard Ceiling.
The special character of the project is the combination of Metal and Plasterboard Ceiling. Before having the building renovated, the ceiling height was on the level of the Plaster Ceiling which served as cladding for the beams lying between the columns – therefore, the realization of a continuous surface was impossible. The lifting of the intermediate Metal Ceiling Panels enlarged the room optically. The Plasterboard Claddings were provided with additional Heating and Cooling Technology to ensure the cooling performance required.

In addition to the Heated and Chilled Ceilings, Lindner Group also equipped the office rooms of the Silver Tower with Baffle and Hook on Ceilings. Besides Ceiling Systems, Lindner also assembled Hollow Floor Nortec and Floor and more®.
