HighTech vs LowTech

„In the course of the decreasing availability of fossil fuels and the resulting need for action, new approaches have been followed in the construction industry in recent years. The optimization of the building envelopes and the use of technical systems represent an essential adjustment factor. This development of new building materials, technologies and planning tools offers a variety of possible solutions, but the number of failure increases with growing complexity. Lack of success and no longer controllable planning, implementation and operating processes require a rethink towards simple solutions through holistic designs. In the development of building concepts, IB Hausladen understands "low-tech" less in the sense of "no tech" than in the sense of robustness against uncertain boundary conditions and develops strategies between passive and active components in the building design.“ Dipl.-Ing. (univ.) Elisabeth Endres

Elisabeth Endres

Elisabeth Endres works both in practice and research at the interface of architecture and technical systems and their integration into building structures. The issues of which indoor climate in buildings is created by passive strategies, which technology is a useful addition and how it is integrated into the buildings are the focus of considerations. Elisabeth Endres initially studied architecture at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and at the Technical University of Munich, graduating with a diploma. From 2007 onwards, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of "Building Climate Control and Building Services" under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Gerhard Hausladen and, in addition to working on individual research projects, has played a key role in managing teaching activities in the architecture degree program, setting up the "Energyefficient Sustainable Building" program, and directing the "Concept and Project" modules in the continuing study program "ClimaDesign". In 2010, she was awarded the "Prize for Excellence in Teaching at TU Munich" for her achievements. Since 2013, she has been project manager at Ingenieurbüro Hausladen, and as a doctoral student at TU Munich she is a member of the International Graduate School for Science and Engineering. In 2018, she was appointed to the management of Ingenieurbüro Hausladen. In addition to two managing directors and another member of the management level, she runs the office, which has stood for integral concepts in the field of tension between passive and active parameters in building planning for over 30 years. She holds teaching positions at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as well as at the Universities of Wismar and Salzburg.

Body & Soul

„Future bathrooms suggest a lot of connectivity in a place where we usually spend time by ourselves. Digitization is changing our view of things, but in our perception, the bathroom remains a calming retreat from the always-accessible life, a place that fulfils the yearning for oneself. As a material-oriented world of experience, the bathroom thus continues to be the perfect place to harmonize body and soul.“ Peter Ippolito

Peter Ippolito

Peter Ippolito studied architecture in Stuttgart and Chicago. During this period he was an assistant to Prof. Ben Nicholson (Chicago) and collected valuable practical experience in the studio of Daniel Libeskind (Berlin). He set up Ippolito Fleitz Group together with Gunter Fleitz in 2002. Over the years this multi-disciplinary design studio has built up an impressive international reputation for its interior architecture, communication and product design projects. Many of the studio’s projects have won prestigious awards, including iF Golds, red dots and ADC Awards. And in 2015 Peter Ippolito and Gunter Fleitz were the first German interior designers to be admitted to Interior Design magazine's prestigious ›Hall of Fame‹. In addition to his creative work, Peter Ippolito has held various teaching positions and is in keen demand as a speaker and as a member of competition juries. Peter Ippolito is a member of the German Designers Club (Deutscher Designer Club).
