Shingle Lake House

 Back to Projects list
Location
Herrsching, Niemcy
Year
2020
Client
Jacob & Spreng Architekten

Situated on the lakeshore of Ammersee, the house overlooks one of the Bavarian lakes in Fünfseenland. Photographing during summer had its benefits. The long daylight hours granted that extra time between motifs to experience and get a genuine feel for the architecture, which in turn positively influenced the photography. To capture the building at its best, I moved slowly and observed the light as it constantly changed. In particular, I wanted to document the shingle facade, a natural material with an aesthetic quality that changes in appearance with the time of day.
