mossessian & partners is an international award-winning RIBA Chartered Architecture Practice with expertise in architecture, masterplanning, technological innovation and research.
Established in 2005 by Michel Mossessian, our experienced team of 20 professionals (with currently more than 10 nationalities) is committed to architecture that adds cultural value and benefits society ‘beyond buildings’.
mossessian & partners has won a growing reputation for architecture of the highest calibre. Rejecting the notion of an ‘ivory tower’ design mentality, the practice encourages a design process that is entirely collaborative, alert to the needs of clients and attentive to the requirements of local planning authorities. This unique ‘Black Box’ modus operandi underpins the key design, essential at the commencement of every project.
We do not set out to design iconic buildings – we strive to place our buildings in dialogue with their context, environment and culture and improve the Client and End-User’s experience of the building. Architecture must communicate a meaning beyond itself to establish a quality and sense of place.
2010-12 has seen the completion of three buildings: 5 Merchant Square in Paddington, London - nominated for the “UK Country of Honour” Award at MIPIM 2011, Shortlisted for BCO Awards 2011, and recently shortlisted by London Planning Awards 2012 for Best Built Project; ExxonMobil Headquarters in Shanghai and a private residence in Sorède, France.
The practice has also completed the design for 23 buildings and a public square in the Msheireb regeneration project in Doha, Qatar, which is due for completion in 2016. This project is currently on site, and has won a number of awards including: MIPIM AR Future Projects Award 2011 - Overall Winner and Mixed Use Winner; and WAF 2012 Future Masterplanning Projects - Winner.
mossessian & partners’ most recent win is an urban renewal project in the Medina of Fez, Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The scheme, currently in construction documentation, has recently been awarded both an Acknowledgement at Holcim Awards 2011 and Highly Commended at WAF 2012.
