Giuseppe Lunardini graduated with the highest marks in Architecture at the University of Florence in 1987 and then specialized in Garden Design and Landscape Architecture at the University of Genoa in 1992. His thesis about the design of the Serchio River Park of Lucca, edited with his colleague Gianfranco Franchi/Franchi + Associati, was realized between 1999 and 2006.
He worked as an employee for the Municipality of Lucca between the ‘80s and 1995. During this perios he was part of the Parks and Gardens Office of Lucca and worked on urban green areas, the Urban Walls and the Botanical Garden.
Since 1996 he has been working as a freelance, dealing with landscape design in an interdisciplinary way, from parks to private gardens for governments and private clients in Italy and abroad. Among his many interventions the redevelopment of the urban promenade on the City Walls, the Serchio River Park and the Giardino of Osservanti, the Ovest Park, Viale Barsanti e Matteucci, the Petroni Terrace and the Floodplain park.
He is a member of AIAPP (Italian Association of Landscape Architecture).
In 2007 he created his own professional firm: Giuseppe Lunardini – Architetto del paesaggio, located in Lucca.
In 2016 he is encharged to design the Italian Garden for Expo Antalya 2016 - A green life for future generations with Marco Servalli/Studio Servalli Architettura by ICE Istanbul.
Aside from his work as landscape architect, he taught at the University of Genoa from 2001 to 2012, also giving several lectures and workshops on urban and private green areas in different Universities, including masters courses, public and private courses in many italian towns.
His project for the Serchio River Park of Lucca won the AIAPP – ACER Award for the best thesis in 1996 and the Sustainable Towns Award in 2000. His Osservanti Garden won the Greenest Town Award in 2007 and he was awarded that prize for the second time for his Passeggio Garden in Lodi.
His private landscape designs, that are always inserted in exclusive landscapes, are erning him more and more success both in Italy and abroad. His private park in Forte dei Marmi won him the Best of Houzz Award 2016 - Design Category this January.
