Competition 2002, 1.Prize

Reorganisation of resting traffic and improvement of habitation within the scope of the loan program „Social City Ingolstadt".
The examination of the banality of a 60tes housing estate as a living space causing simply designing strategies.
The redensification of the residential area with parking garages is resolved with topografic interventions. Situated at the boarder of the quarter they act as a sound absorber, laying traffic and give back landscape.
Clarification and fortification of the existing building and landscape configuration with partly roofed lanes and storerooms as spots for comunication are giving human scale and defing borders and spaces.
These interventions are enabling inhabitants complex use of free space.
The ten year lasting constructin prozess is moderating and shadowing by the architects. The intension is to give back to the quarter, encourage and interprete contemporary the original concept – Living in a Park of Landscape.
