Two-storey city apartment
Fashion. Music. Art. The interior of the VOV Apartment is inspired by the interests of its residents. In a new residential area in Kiev, the architects from ater.architects have created a homage to pop culture in 100 m². Two storeys full of designer furniture, artworks, vinyl records and colourful neon light. For the residents – a young family – Yulia Tkachenko and Alexander Ivasiv from ater.architects have created separate day and night zones: the focus on the first floor is sleep. Here are the bedrooms and nursery as well as the bathroom. On the open ground floor there is the living and dining area combined with a large kitchen including a breakfast bar. Musical instruments, a projector and the roughly 3000 vinyl records of the owner mean it cannot get boring.
Parts of the concrete ceiling and walls of the property were intentionally retained and influence the overall collection with their rough materiality. A harmonious colour concept provides cosiness and an avant-garde look: gloss black quartz sheets in combination with oak fronts and pink elements characterise the kitchen-diner and accessories in Yves Klein blue provide the appropriate counterpart in the living room. Highlight: the atmospheric bathroom with violet neon light, tailored concrete panels and furniture designed specifically for this project.
The Kiev apartment has been equipped with the classic JUNG LS 990 design – in black, white and 4320M Le Rubis from the Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier range. The electrical installation is integrated into the overall interior design.
