The Fraunhofer Institut TZA in Darmstadt presents itself as a clear and monolithically structure at the south-eastern end of the LBF site. The building is designed as a consolidated prominent cuboids building structure that fits in well in the orthogonal urban structures. An extension to the west of the institute building at a late date is possible given the draft. The front of the building is emphasized: the complexity of the science adaptronic deals with formation of self assimilated structure systems, is reduced to the basic: action and reaction. Thru form, function and material as well as handling of the material the issue of adaptronic is conveyed on the front of the building and thus brought forward. The interdisciplinary science of adaptronic with its content topics "research, analyse and present" is translated into an open spaced, storey overlapping room. The knowledge exchange and the communication between internal and external employees are the main issue of this modern workspace's room design.
