Né à Portimao (Portugal), Rafael Eloi obtient son diplôme d’architecte à l’université de Lisbonne en 2008, après un Erasmus à Paris-Belleville. Il effectue différents stages à Lisbonne puis est engagé par meier + associés architectes en 2009.
Après une collaboration fructueuse d'une dizaine d'années, il est nommé membre de la direction, puis associé.

Martin Jaques

Born in 1972 in Lausanne. After receiving a federal matura in science from Neuchâtel and completing several apprenticeships, Jaques Martin enrols on a full-time programme at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), (Prof. P. Mestelan, P. Berger, G. Byrne, L. Snozzi ) which earns him a degree in architecture in 1996 (Prof. A. Cantafora and I. Lamunière).


After practicing at different firms in Switzerland (Brodbeck & Roulet, Ph. Vasey and D. Zanghi, S. Lezzi in Geneva) and abroad (Agrest and Gandelsonas, New York), he joins the agency meier + associés as architect and project manager. He collaborates on several major projects for the agency, in some cases from competition to execution phase (Le Locle technical college, military barracks in Bure, a mixed-use school/residential building in Geneva, the Coordinated Oncology Centre in Lausanne, media library in Valais).


From 2009, he pursues, in parallel, an independent activity that focuses on smaller-scale projects. In 2011, after 11 years of collaboration, he joins the management team on a full-time basis.

Philippe Meier

Born in Geneva in 1962, Philippe Meier attended the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne between 1981 and 1987, the year in which he qualified as an architect. For the next ten years or so, he practiced as a naval architect in partnership with Sébastien Schmidt, the two sharing the Bourse Fédérale des Arts Appliqués in 1993. After gaining experience in Geneva (with Jean-Marc Lamunière and Brodbeck & Roulet), Lausanne (Atelier Commun) and Rome (Alessandro Anselmi), he set up as an independent architect based in Geneva and Coppet (Vaud) in 1990. Philippe Meier was assistant to Professor Patrick Mestelan in the Architecture Department of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne between 1990 and 2000. From 2003 onwards, he has held successive visiting professorships at the Schools of Architecture in Strasbourg, Nancy and Lyon, and the Architecture Section of the EPFL. He also edited the magazine Archimade between 1993 and 1998, and continues to write for the international magazine Area. He is an occasional contributor to publications such as Matières (LTH-EPFL), AS (Architecture Suisse) and Werk, Bauen und Wohnen. A member of the SIA and FAS, he was affiliated to Oeuvre (OEV) between 1998 and 2003.

Ana-Inès Pepermans

Born in 1980 in Brussels, Ana-Inès Pepermans obtains her architectural engineering diploma in 2004 from the Louvain Catholic University. During her studies she participates in the Erasmus programme at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), (Prof. P. Berger’s workshop) as well as the Monte Carasso international seminar (Prof. L. Snozzi). Her diploma, prepared with Prof. Ch Gilot and J. Stillemans addresses new relationships between peripheral urban areas and the surrounding territory.


After several apprenticeships in Buenos Aires and Vigo in Spain, she joins meier + associés Geneva in 2004 as a trainee, and subsequently an associate.


In 2008, she joins the Schweizerische Werkbund and from 2009, participates in the Romand section committee, of which she is today the president. 


In 2011 she joins the management team of meier + associés, in parallel to her teaching role as assistant to Prof. A. Bassi at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne.

Ariane Poncet

Ariane Poncet was born in Lausanne in 1966 and, following art studies, qualified as an architect in 1993 from the School of Architecture at the University of Geneva. After a period with Studio Grau in Rome and gaining a depth of experience in rendering and architectural graphics, she began practicing as a Geneva-based independent architect in 1995. She was assistant to Professor Vincent Mangeat in the Architecture Department of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2000 and 2001. In 1998, she joined forces with Philippe Meier to set up “meier + associés architectes”.
