Situated right in the vineyards on the outskirts of Stuttgart, this cubic two-story villa pushes into the gently sloping hillside. From the outside, the two levels are clearly separated by changes of material and color as well as by offsets in the floor levels. Inside, the rooms are clustered on the two floors according to their functions. Housed in the bottom next to the basement and the garage is a home office, a spa and an au pair apartment. The upper floor houses the living and sleeping rooms of the family, accessed via large steps along a shear wall. The entrance opens generously to the upper living level, leading to the cantilevered staircase. Floor to ceiling glazing is used to give the living-dining area open views of the surrounding vineyards and the town. The bathroom area is more enclosed. Nevertheless, allow targeted cuts, such as a horizontal window over the tub, the view into the garden. Living and dining room are divided by level changes in floor and ceiling fixtures, and custom-made furniture. In the foyer, however, a homogeneous space image was created. So, here both the doors to the rooms on the lower floor and the wardrobe into a continuous covering, are summarized. This was designed as well as all other furniture elements of the architecture firm, creating a consistent overall picture.
