The House of Music opened in Aalborg, Denmark, just over one year ago. Designed by Wolf Prix of Coop Himmelb(l)au, the building looks complex, but it is based on a simple courtyard building, as explained in a couple short films from Spirt of Space.

We first mentioned the House of Music in our year-end review of architecture in 2012, and while it took another year-and-a-half to complete, the building appears to work extremely well as a venue for musical performances and musical education.

The first film from Spirit of Space (yesterday we featured their short film on Shigeru Ban's Tamedia office building in Zurich) takes viewers on a tour of the building, while the second film is of Wolf Prix explaining its design.
