Renovation and Extension Inselhalle Lindau

The architectural concept for the renovation and extension of the Inselhalle intends to keep the 'Nukleus' hall, and its integration between the existing and the new uses. The exterior retains the concise roof structure, with the addition of a 'little brother', visible from above, which accentuates the new foyer. The surrounding buildings are connected to two high points with the polygonally-folded roof, which results in a complete sculptural form, which displays the Inselhalle as an architectural ensemble in the cityscape. The façade caves inwards to clarify the building orientation to the square, to the lake promenade, as well as the city gate, while simultaneously defining the building entrances.
