SOMETHING HAPPENED... at the world’s largest industrial goods exhibition for retail trade and its partners, the EuroShop 2008 in Düsseldorf. The D’art Design Gruppe was once again setting a benchmark with its trade show presence here. In a 200m² space, the international known design office showcased itself by providing a spectacular meeting place. In terms of content, this is devoted to the THING, creatively turning the Kantian philosophy of the “thing-in-itself” on its head. What THING actually is remains undefined. For the interdisciplinary D’art Design Gruppe, THING stands for an open-ended voyage of discovery into its own presentation. For them, design is a team-based, playful process, and not a ready-made solution This playful process results in the desired “emotional connections and memories” of an inspirational encounter with this THING.
