Description
A Fusion of Fashion, Light and Architecture
Philips Lighting offered three young fashion designers a platform for a trend-oriented fashion show at the Illuminesca. Philips chose the event centre Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam with 1,200 sqm as the optimal location for a radiant fashion show followed by a party. The renowned trend-researcher Lidewij Edelkoort encouraged the 300 invited guests in her opening address to dare tread unusual design paths. Lidewij Edelkoort described light as a “part of architecture“, and the spaciously designed theme rooms conceived by D’art Design proved this point of view impressively. Flexible light accents staged the three up-and-coming fashion designers’ fashion creations optimally. The room elements resembled accessible window displays functioned as architectural accents. They supported the lively and vivid light systems in their task to present the designer fashion perfectly.
