Arabeska

The Arabella Park in Munich is the home of numerous architectural icons of the city, such as the HVB Tower, the Sternhaus (“Star house”) and the Westin Grand Hotel. In 2015, following a three-year construction period, a new member joined this prominent neighbourhood: the “arabeska” complex. While the surrounding buildings are mostly conservative high-rise structures, the six-storey main building and the annex of arabeska show major influences from Arabian ornamentations. The main building is divided into a multi-purpose ground floor and several upper floors used for office areas. As to the ground floor, it features a large central atrium surrounded by event and conference rooms as well as a restaurant. The annex houses a training and conference centre of a household appliance manufacturer.

As a part of the interior fit-out, Lindner Group was contracted with the production and installation of hollow and raised floor systems. The diversity of the areas within the complex and its connected demands was met with a large range of systems and customisation options, which is why all rental areas of arabeska have been fitted with Lindner Floors. The event areas and the restaurant of the main building have been fitted with FLOOR and more® hollow floors and high-quality parquet coating. For the upper floor office areas, NORTEC raised floors with carpet coating have been chosen. This system allows access to the floor void at any point, which drastically facilitates maintenance and renovation works. Furthermore, the inner bridge that spans over the atrium of the building has been fitted with CAVOPEX comfort hollow floors. By using their integrated heating function, the room temperature can be adjusted easily.

Being a showroom, training centre and conference center in one, the annex´s interior appearance differentiates from main building. A part of the high-quality look is given by the large-scale ceramic tiles that have been laid with the innovative DryMode laying method. This method does not require the use of primers and adhesives, resulting in very short construction periods compared to other methods. The substructure for the tiles of this project consists of NORTEC raised floors.
