Spa resort
Geinberg / Austria, 1998
Description
The SPA resort Geinberg is one of our most important projects of our existence and meant an economic development for the community and region. The architecture office Team M is involved since the first idea of the resort. The success of the wellness centre is also due to that.

At the beginning general ideas were achieve, in regard to the needs and opportunities of expansion such as parking space, escape route, accessibility, guidance. On this basis the complex of spa, hotel and business can expand radial, without disturbances of the normal business.

The architecture forms a symbiosis with the environment. It is discreet and works with natural materials, like wood, water and soil. All expansion stages conform to the basic architecture which creates the appearance that it was made all of a piece. Meanwhile the fifth stage is realized.

Milestone of the spa Geinberg:
1980 - A local community finance with the support of Upper Austria a test drilling with the aim of the hot-water resource, which was found in 1978. The drilling was successful. They come across one of the productive and hottest mineral spring in central Europe.
1991 - Start of the project development

07/1996 - The groundbreaking ceremony takes place. With 54,4Mio Euro investment of the area of 102,000m2 was the biggest building site in Austria until the opening.
In a record time of just 20 month the wellness centre was built.
04/1998 - official opening of the spa centre.
2000 - Expansion of a meeting-centre and sauna.
The cascade pool with the hall of panoramic was build.
2001 - The expansion of gastronomy “Aquarium” (restaurant, wine cellar, lounge Bar) for guests of the regional catchments area, which was allocate 2008 with three hoots.

2005 – Expansion with a Caribbean salt-water lagoon, rest rooms, Caribbean restaurant in the spa area. Expansion of the relaxing oasis at the four star vital hotel with Floatation and exclusive Treatment, as well as rest rooms and more cloak rooms.

2006 - Expansion of the relaxing oasis with the “Dead Sea – Salt grotto”
2007 – Enlargement of the existing sauna with the “Caribbean Sauna oasis”
2011 – Expansion of the hotel with 5*chalets, enlargement of the exclusive restaurant, premium Spa and Hamam.
