Salvo Di Silvestro
Born in Catania, Italy, in 1969, Salvo Di Silvestro graduated “cum laude” from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence, Italy. Before being in practice on his own in partnership with Marco de Fonzo and Giorgio Gottardi (X-TERN, 2001), he has worked in London, Rotterdam (Kwau, Wim Kloosterboer) and Merano (P.V.C. architects, Pardatscher, Valtingojer, Clemens).
In 2000 he won the first prize at the international competition for the new Corporate Design of the “Strassendienst/Servizio Strade” (Roads Maintenance Service) of South Tyrol (Italy).



Marco de Fonzo
Born in Merano, Italy, in 1969, Marco de Fonzo studied at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence, Italy. During his studies he also worked for Pardatscher & Valtingojer, Merano (Italy) and later for Danilo Silvestrin in Munich (Germany). He then moved to Rotterdam to work initially with Atelier Kingma & van Mameren and later with Kwau (Wim Kloosterboer). He has been teaching at the ADB (Accademia di Design) in Bolzano (Italy).



Giorgio Gottardi
Born in Merano, Italy, in 1969, Giorgio Gottardi studied Urban Planning in Venice (Italy) and Architecture in Dortmund (Germany). He worked for several offices in Germany (Stadtplanung und Stadtforschung, Kirschner + Schirmer, Dortmund) and in the Netherlands (Victor Mani, Atelier Kingma & van Mameren, Rotterdam). In 2001 he worked on a research project on the European Railway Stations Areas (commissioned by the Municipality of Bolzano, Italy) and held lectures on this theme in Frankfurt, Aachen and Münster (Germany).
