Max Titchmarsh
Director, London Office

Max joined SPARK to set up the London office in September 2011. Having been at Alsop Architects since 1993, he worked closely with the other SPARK Directors for many years prior to rejoining the group to re-establish a European footing.

As a Director at Alsop, Max was responsible for much of the practice's work in Urban Design, including the ongoing Vision for Croydon 2020, the mixed use Waterfront development in Walsall and major new river-side developments in Karlsbad (Czech Republic) and Abu Dhabi.

In parallel he oversaw the London-focussed residential, commercial and mixed use development of the practice and has recently been running teams on a variety of mixed use schemes both in London, the wider UK, Europe and the Middle East.

His work also involves leading bids for public sector work, leading the design process and engaging with key stakeholders in securing the support and developer interest necessary for the long term deliverability of complex Urban schemes.

Max has been involved in a wide variety of projects at all stages of design and construction. He worked on the early design stages of the Colorium in Dusseldorf (completed 2001), the hugely successful office building Palestra on Blackfriars Road (completed 2006) and from conception to completion on the community arts centre ‘The Public’ in West Bromwich.

Max is a strong advocate of SPARK’s highly creative and collaborative approach to architecture and urban design and believes firmly that placemaking begins with a bold but sustainable vision.

He is committed to meeting the changing needs of the London development community, bringing innovation and intelligent solutions to help unlock the current commercial challenges.
