Deadline for the 2012 World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize Nominations

The deadline for nominations for the third World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize is July 31, 2012. The prize is awarded every two years "to a design professional or firm in recognition of innovative design solutions that preserved or saved a modern landmark at risk." Previous recipients include Bierman Henket architecten and Wessel de Jonge architects for their restoration of the Zonnestraal Sanatorium in Hilversum, the Netherlands (2010) and Brenne Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH for its restoration of the former ADGB Trade Union School in Bernau, Germany (2008). The winner receives a cash prize, a Knoll chair, and is flown to New York City to give a lecture at the Museum of Modern Art.  jh
