Working as critic, publisher, content manager and curator in the field of architecture and urban development. The focus of his work is the development in Asia and the Pacific Rim. Joined PSA in 2006 as a project manager for China. The only criteria for good architecture are quality. What does that mean? In some cases it is the urban surrounding that was changed by the implementation of a new building. In other cases it is the quality of space, or the detailing, the materiality, the integration into the existing natural or urban environment. But in some rare cases it is exactly the opposite – the rejection of neighbouring structures and the invention of a new approach in a contemporary expression that changes the surrounding. Architectural critic is not a sugar cube on top of the physical structure, but an essential part of the discourse on contemporary culture. |
