BMW Guggenheim Lab Berlin
On June 15 the BMW Guggenheim Lab opened in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg. This opening came after threats of anti-gentrification protests against the Lab's desired location in the Kreuzberg district. Previously, the Atelier Bow-Wow-designed structure occupied a vacant lot in New York City, where it resided for three months in 2011. The carbon-fiber structure with carbon-fiber mesh wrapper houses lectures, workshops, and other events related to improving urban life. Berlin is the second of a planned nine cities in six years for the Lab in one form or another; next up is Mumbai in late 2012. This film documents the construction of Atelier Bow-Wow's building in Berlin. jh
