Brito.Rodriguez

BRITO.RODRIGUEZ ARQUITECTURA is an international studio formed in 2006 by Inês Martins de Brito (Portugal,1977) and Gilberto Rodriguez (USA,1973). With combined professional experiences, they coordinate a multidisciplinary team that varies in size relating to the scale and complexity of each project. In the studio, their focus is on the development of concepts inherent to the identity of a space while interpreting the specific context and conditions of the environment. Relying on a clear vision and rigorous approach, the goal is to reach an integrated expression between architecture and landscape.

With two different cultural backgrounds sharing a common interest in architecture, they met in Spain while working at the office of RCR Arquitectes (2002-2004). During 2004, they relocated to San Francisco, USA where they independently collaborated at the offices of Sagan Piechota Architecture and Jim Jennings Architecture (2004-2008). They initiated their professional practice by participating in several international competitions and were awarded for the Site Museum in Tulum, Mexico and the Lodge Museum in Chachapoyas, Peru. Recently, the studio was awarded 1st prize for a project proposal of a building rehabilitation located in the villa of Óbidos, Portugal. The studio’s work has been published and exhibited internationally.

Inês Martins de Brito is a Licensed Architect from the Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, Portugal.

Gilberto Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas, Austin USA
