Today, the NYC Department of Transportation, Department of Design and Construction, Snøhetta, and the Times Square Alliance celebrate the completion of a reinvented Times Square, as the revamped “Crossroads of the World” embraces its role as a stage for public life and freedom of expression.

The Times Square Alliance's ninth annual Times Square Valentine Heart was unveiled this morning during a rainy ceremony. The Office for Creative Research's We Were Strangers Once Too is billed as "a public data sculpture highlighting the role that immigrants have played in the founding, development, and continued vibrancy of New York City."

'XXX' in Times Square

German architect J. Mayer H. unveiled his new installation, XXX TIMES SQUARE WITH LOVE, in New York City's Times Square this morning. The pink seats reference the X-shaped street inersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue as well as the adult theaters that once populated the area.

Collective-LOK's design featuring "a faceted ring of golden, mirrored hearts to create a kaleidoscopic pavilion that multiplies the spectacle of Times Square" has won the invited competition for the 8th annual pavilion celebrating Valentine's Day.

For the 2015 Times Square Valentine Heart Design, an invited competition organized by the Times Square Arts and the Architectural League of New York, the winner Stereotank installed an urban drum in the form of a heart.
