The American-Architects Building of the Year 2016 is the Sharon Fieldhouse in Clifton Forge, Virginia, designed and constructed by the design/buildLAB at Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design. The project received more than 15% of the thousands of votes cast by readers for their favorite Building of the Week featured on our US platform last year.

Malcolm Reading Consultants has released the designs of the ten shortlisted schemes in the UK Holocaust Memorial International Design Competition, which will "affirm the United Kingdom's commitment to stand up against prejudice and hatred."

The seven-person jury for the 2017 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award has announced 40 shortlisted projects culled from 355 works nominated for the prestigiuos biennial award organized by the European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe.

The Architectural League of New York has announced the eight firms receiving its 2017 Emerging Voices Award, the annual competition that "spotlights North American individuals and firms with distinct design 'voices' that have the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design."
