Oculus Book Talk: John Hill, Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture

AIA CES: 1.0 LU

When: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM MONDAY, JULY 9

Where: At The Center

John Hill will present his book Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture.

Guide to Contemporary New York City Architecture highlights more than 200 buildings completed since 2000, a decade when a veritable building boom gripped the city, giving rise to a host of new—and architecturally cutting-edge—residential, corporate, institutional, academic, and commercial structures. With the slowdown brought on by the recession, the guidebook takes a look at the 21st-century's urban transformations. Projects are grouped by neighborhood, allowing for easy, self-guided tours, with photos, maps, directions, and descriptions that highlight the most important aspects of each entry.

John Hill is an architect, a blogger (archidose.org), an adjunct professor (New York Institute of Technology), and the US Representative/Editor of World-Architects.com. He lives in Astoria, Queens.
